About Gilda
I have been teaching English as a second language for over 8 years in London schools, universities and abroad. During this time I have taught students from a variety of nationalities, background and ages.
- 80% of my students have reached their language goals which have allowed them to enter university by obtaining the IELTS score required by the course of their choice.
- I have received great feedback from students from my Business English classes, with the majority confirming the usefulness of activities and language used in the classroom.
-University students all successfully completed their language requirements at the end of their pre-sessional course often exceeding the marks needed by the university.

My strength as a teacher resides in the great awareness I have of students individual needs, goals and learning styles. These are pivotal to students successful learning outcomes, therefore all my classes are catered to meet these requirements.
In my experience in the field, I have always collected feedback from learners to understand what could be improved in the material and in the way the lesson was delivered to promote learning.
When teaching in London, students expressed the frustration of not being able to transfer the skills developed in the classroom in the daily language challenges of their life abroad.
To help learners, I focused my studies on the development of authentic material that could be used in lower-level classes. I applied the results from my research with my learners and proved the importance of exposing students from very low levels to the language they will be likely to encounter in real life.
Therefore, most of the materials I teach with is based on authentic conversations used as listening and speaking practice and texts (including different ranges of formality and topics).
