About Henry

I am deeply passionate about tutoring because I aspire to help students gain admission to prestigious universities. I have extensive experience tutoring SAT math and writing to high school students, and I have also taught children how to draw and paint, guiding them to win various art-related awards. As a regional, national, and international award-winning artist, I have been accepted into esteemed institutions such as The New School, Pratt Institute, SCAD, UGA, Auburn, UMich, and SLU. In my tutoring sessions, I primarily focus on algebra and grammar, believing that every problem in these subjects has a specific formula for resolution. My goal is to equip my students with these formulas, empowering them to excel academically.

About the lesson

As a math tutor, my approach is centered around patience and clarity, ensuring that even the most challenging concepts become manageable and understandable for my students. My teaching method involves breaking down complex problems into simpler, more digestible parts, using a step-by-step approach that builds a strong foundation of understanding. A typical lesson plan begins with a review of previous material, followed by the introduction of new concepts, guided practice, and then independent practice to reinforce learning. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to make difficult topics seem easy and my commitment to adapting my teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student. My lessons are designed for students from elementary through high school, specifically targeting those who need assistance in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and SAT math preparation.
