About Ella

Hi! I'm Ella, a third-year Bachelor of Science (Pure & Applied Chemistry) student at the University of Adelaide with a strong academic record and research experience.

In high school, I wasn't always a top student. I know what it's like to feel stuck and wonder if you're just not smart enough. As I learned better study methods and focused on understanding concepts instead of memorizing them, my results improved a lot. That journey has helped me understand what students often struggle with and how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense.

Now, I have a strong academic record at university and research experience in chemistry, but more importantly, I know that every student learns differently. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence at their own pace.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring for Year 10–12 Chemistry, Science, and Math, as well as introductory university chemistry.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and focused on understanding rather than memorizing. I like to explain concepts step by step, encourage students to ask questions, and adapt each lesson to their learning style and pace. Whether you're preparing for exams, catching up in class, or aiming for top grades, I'll help you build confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I'm happy to adjust the length to suit your needs. I can help with homework, exam preparation, revision, and understanding difficult topics.

Although I am beginning my professional tutoring journey, I have experience explaining scientific concepts through my university research and laboratory work. I believe every student can improve with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement, and I aim to make learning enjoyable as well as effective.

My rate includes personalized lesson planning, practice questions, and revision support. I offer both online and in-person lessons around Adelaide. If significant travel is required, we can discuss any additional travel costs beforehand. I'm happy to adapt each lesson to suit your learning goals and pace.
