About Leonora

I am a teacher from Chile. I have over 3 years of teaching experience - including university students, teenagers and adults. My teaching experience has spanned over both the English speaking and Spanish speaking world, having worked in a University and different schools in Chile, as well as, a year abroad working in a High School in the UK. Alongside this, I have tutored and mentored many people on a 1-1 basis as well as, tutoring groups of around 20 people, all of whom have been able to reach their goals. On a personal level, I am a patient, friendly and a well-organised person who is dedicated to enhancing the education of any who wishes to work with me. One of my main goals is to provide a stress-free environment to facilitate the learning of the language.

About the lesson

The first lesson is to assess the needs and knowledge of the student, while also taking the time to converse about which methodology suits the student the best. During this session, we discuss goals and objectives regarding the language to create a plan tailored to their needs. English classes include Speaking, Reading comprehension, Writing, Listening comprehension and practice. For each lesson, I will provide the student with activities to enhance their learning, these activities can either be completed for a deadline or just as extra support. They will also be evaluated by me and checked during the lessons to provide more effective feedback. After 5 lessons there will be a formative assessment to check for understanding and progress. As well as, a small meeting where the achievement of certain goals will be discussed and if the student (or parent) desires to continue working with me.

Perfect! This girl is a very good teacher, I was pleased to have a lesson with her. Although I only have 2 lessons, I already notice that my English is better and I understand more. I hope to have more lessons with Leonora!

The first lesson with Leonora will allow you to get to know each other and discuss your needs for future lessons.

Details

The first lesson is a taster class of 45 mins in order for the student to experience what a typical class will be like. Each class thereafter is £30 for 60 mins. If bought in bulk, a discount will be applied. Every lesson includes a PowerPoint that will be uploaded to a Google Classroom course set up for the student to review on their own. If asked, the PowerPoint will be uploaded with a small handout or activity to review the lesson. I am available from 9am to 5pm on weekdays for any questions or doubts that the student might have, even outside the lesson time. I will be more than happy to recommend films, music, working resources, etc.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made at least one hour in advance. In case of emergencies, you will not be charged for the lesson. However, if no emergency is involved, the full lesson fee will apply.

Attendance:

I will remain on the call for up to 15 minutes; after this time, the lesson will be considered completed.
