About Hayley
I have been unofficially teaching English and editing papers for the last eight years. Officially, I began tutoring in late 2016. I taught private lessons to 4 students and assisted in larger classrooms. After studying with me, one of my students received better grades in his English class while another student's conversational skills improved drastically. By working with me, these two particular students were able to improve their English skills and feel more confident and more fluent.

A TEFL certified, English graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, I have experience teaching English to various ages, primarily with intermediate and advanced levels. A believer of the “communicative approach” and “direct method,” my classes are solely in English, immersing students and increasing their understanding more quickly, focusing on conversation as a tool to gain fluency. I utilize authentic materials and grammar/ vocabulary worksheets to increase and improve students’ knowledge. I am a native speaker who can teach proper grammatical structures, everyday phrases, and cultural communication skills. I have written countless essays in English and love assisting students with reading comprehension and writing.

Perfect! Hayley is the most thoughtful and caring teacher I could ask for. I feel like I have learned so much with just a few classes already. It does require dedication and practice, but she is giving me all the resources and motivation I need. Worth every single penny! Thank you for the amazing quality of your classes, Hayley! I can't wait for our next one.
- Igor is an amazing student! I cannot recommend him enough. He always comes into our lessons with such enthusiasm and a clear desire to better himself. Teaching him is a real pleasure and the hour flies by every class. That classic cliche–my student is the one teaching me–is definitely applicable here because he also gives me constructive feedback to continuously improve our time together.Hayley's response :
