About Payton
Hello, my name is Payton. I have recently completed my Teaching English as a Foreign Language course online and feel very prepared and confident to apply what I have learned to make personalized, impactful lessons to help ESL/ESOL students English improve in ways most meaningful to them.
Whether your goal is to improve your speaking and listening skills, or your reading and writing skills, I am the tutor for you.

I like to start out my first lesson getting to know my student, and figuring out what their goals and needs are to better plan and individualize lessons.
A typical lesson will be a brief introduction greeting, talking about the weather and day of week to get students comfortable talking right at the beginning of the lesson. Typically this would be followed with going over new vocabulary, getting into the meanings and uses of the words, and then opening up the lesson to a grammar point we will be studying.
I aim to make classes fun and engaging, encouraging students to speak freely and make mistakes. I want to see students participating and having fun in the activities and lessons I prepare.
I believe when students are having fun and not feeling pressure to be perfect is when they make the most meaningful improvement.
I encourage students from all levels to reach out! I will personally plan lessons to fit anyone students needs.
