About Jonathan

My name is Jonathan, and I study at BSP Business & Law School in Hamburg. Mathematics is part of my degree, but what's crucial for tutoring is my extensive practical experience with students. I tutor because I've always enjoyed explaining things. Even during my own school days, I was the go-to person for math questions. That's how my work with students developed. I work calmly, patiently, and systematically. Feedback regularly shows that students understand the material better and grasp the connections more clearly than in regular classes. The goal isn't to get through problems quickly, but to build confidence and genuine understanding. Since 2019, I've worked directly in schools, and since 2022, I've been providing in-service math support at several schools. I've also been offering private math tutoring since 2021. We can discuss everything else in person during an initial meeting.

About the lesson

This tutoring is designed for students who don't just want to keep up in math, but truly understand the material. The lessons closely follow the school curriculum and address specific areas of uncertainty. We primarily use current school materials to ensure students can immediately recognize and confidently apply concepts. The tutoring begins with a brief assessment of the student's current knowledge. This quickly identifies any missing foundational knowledge and explains why certain topics are proving difficult. We then focus on these areas until the connections become clear and the concepts finally "click." Alongside the current material, a solid foundation in mathematics is built step by step. This foundation makes new topics easier to grasp, enables students to solve problems more independently, and fosters greater confidence in their abilities. The goal is not short-term cramming, but genuine confidence in mathematics – in class, on tests, and beyond.
