About Renee

I am a Registered Nurse with a diverse clinical background that includes intensive care nursing in both cardiac and neurology, as well as experience in hospice, home care, hyperbaric medicine, and leadership within a primary care setting. This broad range of experience allows me to support nursing students across multiple subjects while maintaining a strong focus on clinical judgment and patient safety. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with nurses and students at different stages of their professional development. I understand the challenges of nursing school and the pressure that comes with preparing for the NCLEX. My goal as a tutor is to provide clear, structured guidance that helps students think critically, prioritize effectively, and approach questions with confidence. I am known for my calm, supportive teaching style and my ability to explain complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I take pride in helping students recognize patterns, avoid common testing pitfalls, and learn how to identify the best answer, even when more than one option seems correct. Above all, I am committed to professionalism, accuracy, and student success. I create a respectful and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in their confidence as future nurses.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered on helping students develop strong clinical judgment and confidence, rather than relying on memorization alone. I focus on teaching students how to think like a nurse, which is essential for both nursing school success and passing the NCLEX.

I use structured frameworks such as patient safety, ABCs, acute versus chronic conditions, stable versus unstable patients, and expected versus unexpected findings to help students consistently approach questions. I encourage students to verbalize their reasoning so we can identify gaps in thinking and correct the process—not just the answer.
