About Kanishka
I am a qualified Registered Nurse and Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) graduate from Auckland University of Technology, with extensive clinical placement experience across aged care, rehabilitation, surgical, mental health, community and post-operative settings, including PACU at North Shore Hospital. This combination of academic knowledge and hands-on clinical experience allows me to provide practical and relevant nursing support to students. My tutoring approach is structured, supportive and focused on genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I break down complex nursing concepts into clear explanations and use case studies, OSCE preparation, clinical reasoning and exam-focused practice questions. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence and strengthening their clinical thinking.

My teaching approach is supportive, interactive and tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. As a Registered Nurse, I connect nursing theory with real clinical situations to help students understand not just what to learn, but why it matters in practice. A typical lesson begins by identifying areas the student finds challenging, followed by clear explanations of key concepts. We then work through clinical scenarios, case studies and practice questions to strengthen clinical reasoning and application. For OSCE preparation, I focus on structured approaches, communication, assessment and clinical confidence. Lessons are suitable for first-, second- and third-year nursing students and can be adapted for assignments, exams, OSCEs or general nursing support. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence.
