About Mihaela

Hey! I'm Mihaela and I discovered my passion for language learning in my school days. One day I accidentally ended up volunteering to teach Japanese and Spanish to younger year groups and that's when I, despite not wanting to, fell deeply in love with teaching! People tend to learn language as a skill to acquire, but I hope to show you it's much more than that: it's something that transforms your everyday life and you as a person leaving you curious and inspired about what's to come tomorrow, not just in language but in everything!

About the lesson

My lessons are student-centred and suitable for all levels of learning, though I specialise in teaching levels intermediate and upwards. Whether you're still learning a lot of new grammar, looking to iron out those little mistakes to make your English perfect, or even if your goal is just to master a specific skill such as speaking, I would love to help! Sessions come in all different forms including but not limited to weekly classes, comprehensive revision sessions, pre-exam confidence boosters, skill-specific support e.g. oral exam prep, grammar/vocab reviews and more. During our trial session I find out your goal(s) for the language and create future lessons based on that with your input - I am as much the student as I am the teacher and I continuously learn about how you learn best and what you are most interested in in terms of the language, which ultimately will become the basis of our learning! Standard sessions are 1 hour long, but can be reduced or extended in time based on preference. I am a Level 5 Certified TEFL tutor with 6 years' experience in tutoring languages to all age groups.

Perfect! Mihaela has been teaching English to my 14-year-old daughter for three months to prepare her for a difficult exam, both in-person and online, and I cannot praise her enough.

To start with, Mihaela had a remarkable ability to connect with my daughter and make her feel confident about the act of learning English. This is very important for me, since I consider that it is not possible to learn without being motivated beforehand.

Regarding the lessons, I saw her teaching, and the lessons were very interactive and totally adapted to my daughter's needs. She clearly keeps the students interested and eager to learn more, using for that purpose a variety of teaching tools and methods, including literature, creative writing, and interactive discussions. As a result, I have seen a notable improvement in my daughter's English abilities, enabling her to do her English exams with confidence and enough knowledge to pass them.

In conclusion, Mihaela is an outstanding English teacher who goes above and beyond to ensure her students not only learn English, but also develop a passion for learning.

We feel very fortunate to have had her as our daughter's teacher and highly recommend her to any parent.

It was so much fun to work with such an inquisitive student who had questions even I had to research answers to. All I can say about Mihaela is that she is absolutely outstanding! She used to teach me Spanish and I can’t wait to go back to learning with her! Not only does she have a true talent for teaching, but she also always makes sure nothing is ever left misunderstood - she'll go over it 10 times if necessary until I get it right in a completely encouraging manner. Her lessons are always made specific to my goals and needs rather than her using a standard approach, which I love. And something else I love about her lessons that I can't get elsewhere, is that she always strives to make sure I achieve perfection, rather than just what is necessary for me at the moment.

I ask for a flat rate travel expense of £10 if you wish to have your lesson(s) in person. Cancellations/rescheduling: Please give me 24 hours' notice if you wish to cancel your lesson or reschedule it, as this will allow me to refund you in full. Unfortunately, if less than 24 hours' notice is given you will still be fully charged.
