About Mario

Being a Caltech student, I have completed many difficult courses that have trained my brain to acquire a deeper level of understanding of concepts. I have worked in the past as a tutor at Mathnasium for a year, which involves math for K-12 education. I have since worked as a teaching assistant at Caltech for various courses such as a summer camp for incoming freshmen in which we teach basic Python and higher-level calculus as well as a discrete math course.

About the lesson

I have a great understanding of many different subjects in math, including algebra and calculus. I can teach math in elementary school to high school to college math (multivariable calculus and linear algebra). As a tutor, I try to focus on deeper understanding of concepts rather than singular exercises so that the understanding can be applied to different problems. I try to relate to my students through our shared experiences of adversity in school and share my tips on overcoming them. Moreover, I do not give up when a student believes learning something is too hard. I try to push them to think about it in a different way until it becomes clearer.
