Teaching others first requires some level of practical mastery of the subject matter. It also requires an open heart to connect with individuals to see what the most successful knowledge retention methodologies are to use. Having the ability to demonstratively take a learner to different perspectives of the topic (i.e. from the bottom, from the left, from the front, etc.) enables a more rapid development of understanding what you're learning and why.
