About James
I am a self-taught guitarist who has been playing classical and steel-string acoustic guitars since 2021. Through discipline, hard-work and dedication, I overcame numerous obstacles faced by all beginning guitarists and learned a lot along the way from countless mistakes. Therefore, it is my goal right now to help aspiring guitarists navigate the seemingly daunting landscape of music using my own knowledge and experience, so that they can avoid the same pitfalls I fell into. I believe that my own journey is a testament to a view I uphold that true dedication and persistence are most important when it comes to learning music, not talent

I believe that the best way to learn any skill is to do it in way that is enjoyable and motivates you to want to continue learning. Therefore, my course will focus on a more practical goal-oriented approach. You will begin by setting personal goals about which songs you would like to learn to play, and then we will work on the techniques required to play those songs. As you get better, you will begin to enjoy the process and stay motivated because of your connection to the songs. The theory will follow at the end, once you can play comfortably, so that you can understand how and why the songs work. I can teach fluently in English, Setswana and Zulu. Every student, from beginning to advanced intermediate level is welcome.
