About Makareta
My name is Makareta, and I'm 19, with a weird obsession with teaching others what I know, only when asked of course. I watched my best friend struggle with dyslexia and no one who put in the effort to find a way to help her learn so I became that person for her teaching her to read and write essays, pass high school, and now she's in University. Nobody is unteachable, you just need the right teacher, let me try!

As someone who has and studies with ADHD, unmedicated, I have dedicated a lot of my time to finding different ways of learning as well as teaching as two of my closest friends are dyslexic and autistic. I enjoyed the process of watching someone learn so much that I became a teaching assistant when I finished my NCEA qualifications in high school as a way to do something I enjoyed, as well as stay near my friends who hadn't finished yet.
I noticed some teachers can be condescending and unrelatable and I think my age helps me overcome that initial barrier, while my extensive knowledge works the rest of the magic!
