About Maria

I'm a linguist, translator and language teacher with a 5 years experience in teaching Russian language. I was born in Russia and Russian is my native language. I graduated from Imperial College London and was tutoring and volunteering at different schools and organizations, such as Action Tutoring.

About the lesson

As a professional teacher I am caring, passionate, enthusiastic and excited about providing engaging and challenging learning experiences. My aim is to assist, encourage and support students to achieve their learning goals. In my classroom I believe that all students have the fundamental right to have access to a successful and fulfilling education in order to be productive and valuable members of society. I take on a holistic, flexible and differentiated pedagogical approach to teaching, to allow for inclusivity within my classroom domains. I strongly believe that there is no one size fits all approach to pedagogy and learning. Therefore, I constantly need to know my students backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures, religions and capabilities to provide quality and engaging learning experiences to engage and challenge all students.

Maria is an amazing tutor!! She helped me with A-level biology during my final year exam preparation and with her help I got a first class mark in biology. This helped me meet my UCAS requirements for both UCL and Imperial College!! She has an excellent understanding in the subject, she can relate things to one another within biology/chemistry and the way she explains things is very easy to understand and remember.

She is the most amazing tutor I’ve ever had ever! Very very intelligent and has an amazing approach to learning. She puts things in a perspective which is so easy to understand, even when it comes to things like DNA fragments and cloning. I’m very upset that I can’t have her over to help me anymore due to the current situation however she’s helped my learning strategy and confidence in retaining new information!!
