About Julianna
I am a rising junior at Middlebury College, studying geology.
I am a recipient of the POSSE foundation full-tuition scholarship, which is awarded to students who show academic excellence, as well as excellence in community service and leadership.
I have years of experience tutoring my own younger siblings in STEM subjects, as well as a year and a half of experience tutoring third and fourth grade girls remotely.

As shown in my resume, I spent the majority of my summer and winter breaks in high school
volunteering at a local day camp in South Los Angeles. Responsibilities included: helping
students with their break assigned homework, leading them in arts and crafts, and teaching
them sports. I have found I have the patience and strength to work with younger and teenage
students, which would make me a very strong candidate.
I am a college student, but I also work as a STEM mentor during the school year. I remotely
work with Black and Latin American third and fourth graders from New York City.
Responsibilities include: leading the girls in reading for an hour a week, engaging them in virtual
activities that reflect the theme of the module, such as ocean exploration and climate activism,
and leading them through arts and craft projects that further their understanding of the module. I
worked with these students for 6-8 hours a week, and found that though it was sometimes
difficult to have them contain their excitement, it was rewarding to see their understanding of
STEM subjects grow.
As mentioned earlier, I am a college student. I am a rising junior, majoring in earth sciences and
Geology. I have always had a passion for the hard sciences, such as physics and chemistry,
and have had to take numerous math courses, as a result. I have taken/ excelled in courses
such as: algebra 1&2 , geometry, calculus 1 & 2, statistics, and data science. The data science
course gave me more of a background in coding and data analysis, but it may be useful for
tutoring higher-level math students.
I feel very confident teaching grades 3rd-12th in math subjects.
