About Thomas
I am a recent graduate from Portland State University with an Bachelor of Science degree in EnMglish with a minor in Writing; as such I am trained to think critically and branch diverse topics in a way that is easily communicated and digested by would-be students. Much of my focus was on poetry and the way words interact, however this led to many nights of researching composition and ease of writing. I find that my teaching style is largely based on conversational English (compared to academic) but this adds weight to my ability to teach English as a Second Language as we will focus largely on the ability to communicate in any given situation.

As a tutor I will spend designated hours to work with students to navigate the complexities of the English speaking nations. Each lesson plan will be individually matched to the students comprehension skill but generally we will start simple and grow into complex topics with time. Largely we will focus on communication and writing composition but may branch into other topics if the student expresses interest. My lessons are for beginners without a firm grasp on the English language who wish to deepen their understanding (Highschool through Adulthood).
