My teaching philosophy is that every student is unique and that teaching should portray this. One of the most important aspects of teaching,is reassuring a student that they are able to complete a task and learn something new. I believe that self-confidence plays an important role in how students learn.
Another crucial aspect to learning is the environment in which it takes place. Students need to realize that respect within any learning environment is important. If students respect their teacher less time is spent addressing bad behaviour and more is spent on learning. In my opinion the best way of reaching this point is to have a clear and open relationship within the class with clear set boundaries. Students are more open to learning if they feel safe, happy and accepted . Learning environments should foster confidence and stimulate learning as this will lead to learners feeling safe to share their ideas and take risks.
