About Donald
My teaching career is long and varied. I began teaching English language in Greece, where I lived two times for a total of about eleven years. I also worked for six months as an English instructor in Ukraine, and for the last eleven years have been an online English instructor for a language school in Moscow. Aside from my language teaching experience, I was a university literature and writing instructor in the United States for almost twenty years, and found that the two different but related professions complemented each other in a number of important ways.

With the help of tried and true materials, my students receive instruction in the development of all four English language skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing) as preparation for major exams (FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, etc.) or for practical use at work or university. Emphasis is given to speaking as a primary foundation for communication, and students get continuous practice in applying lessons learned from their developing speaking ability to the improvement of other language skills. Because language learning depends to a great extent on review and repetition, students can expect frequent oral grammar drills and writing as a process involving several drafts. Over the years, these challenging, integrated language courses have successfully prepared students for major English language exams.
