About Dorin
For the last 4 years I have been working as an EAL (English as an additional language) and literacy intervention teacher in an outstanding school in Birmingham.
I was confirmed as Qualified Teacher in England by The Teaching Agency under Directive 2005/36/EC in March 2013. Following the granting of my QTS I also completed in July 2013 a five month Post ITT Subject Knowledge Enhancement in Modern Languages (French) with The Liverpool John Moores University.
The scope of my skills and experience is also related to my 16 year career as High School/College classroom teacher of English as a foreign language in Romania before June 2011.

My particular approach to teaching English has always concentrated on the meaningful, practical and authentic nature of communication. All my lessons included readings of authentic and unabridged materials: newspapers, media reports, speeches and various works of fiction. All my classes were conducted primarily in English, with the occasional explanation in the students’ native language of finer grammar or idiomatic points.
