About Alina
Hi, I’m Alina, a second-year PhD student in Psychology at ARU Cambridge. I hold an MSc with distinction from Anglia Ruskin University and a BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Birmingham. My academic background allows me to support students in developing both the written and quantitative skills needed for coursework, research, and exams.
I work with quantitative methods on a daily basis as part of my doctoral research, including analysing large datasets in Excel and conducting statistical analyses using jamovi and SPSS. As my project is primarily quantitative, I am comfortable teaching both foundational statistical concepts and more advanced techniques, including mediation, moderation, and MANOVA.
My experience with research and data analysis allows me to explain statistics clearly and professionally while helping students build confidence in applying these methods in their own studies.

My lessons focus on making statistics clearer and easier to work with by breaking complex topics into manageable steps. I start by identifying which areas a student finds most challenging and then guide them through the concepts using clear explanations, worked examples, and practice questions. I also focus on helping students interpret results and understand how statistical methods are applied in exams and real research.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and combine explanation, guided problem-solving, and practice. For university students, I can also provide support with coursework, research methods, and interpreting statistical outputs.
I am currently a second-year Psychology PhD student and regularly use statistics in my own research. This experience allows me to explain both the theory behind statistical methods and how they are used in practice.
Lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-level students studying statistics or psychology, as well as undergraduate students who need support with statistics, research methods, or quantitative coursework.
