About Flora
I am a student-athlete at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I attended high school in Maine, where I began to learn German, as well as having grown up with German-speaking family members. I continue to study German myself, to ensure that I am keeping it sharp, but I am a very proficient German reader, writer, and speaker. I take pride in my ability to teach and also make learning a subject fun.

As both a German and English speaker, I know exactly the teaching methods that work best going from English to German
I have lots of experience with kids, so I will make sure they have fun in the process, and as a college student, I am able to work with high schoolers very well. I like to be somewhat immersive, so I will speak to them in German part of the time, or use German vocabulary here and there in order to get them used to hearing it, as well as doing worksheets and exercises.
An important part of immersion is making sure to give them insight into various parts of German culture, so introducing them to German foods, dress, etc. I want to make sure they are not just going over the basics but really living the language!
