About Robin
I am an urban planner with a passion (and extensive experience) for teaching English. I have a Bachelor's in Anthropology and Russian, a Master's in Urban Planning, and a CELTA certification to teach English to non-native speakers. I spent one year teaching English in Montreal to adults and teenagers, and another year as an English professor at a university in Turkey. Right now, I work in research while also teaching English; I am dedicated to my students' success and improvement and will work with you to find the right learning style, materials, and to achieve your goals.

My teaching methods are based on a combination of the traditional Present, Produce, Practice (PPP) model and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). PPP allows me to ensure my students have sufficient time to absorb materials and to put them into practice in interesting and stimulating exercises. CLT focuses more on interaction between the students and their teacher and environment. Using the CLT method allows me to cater more to students' particular interests, drawing from authentic texts on a variety of topics and to engage my students with their immediate surroundings. In every case, the emphasis is on the student, their needs and interests, and the most effective methods to help them achieve their language goals. I'm also always open to (and do) try new methods and techniques to improve my students' learning experience!
