About Myungwon

I am a professional chef with experience working in restaurant kitchens, specializing in both East Asian and Western cuisine. I am passionate about teaching practical cooking skills in a simple and approachable way. I enjoy helping people build confidence in the kitchen, whether they are beginners or looking to improve to a professional level. I am patient, friendly, and focused on real, hands-on learning.

About the lesson

I provide hands-on cooking lessons in both East Asian and Western cuisine, based on experience working in professional restaurant kitchens. My focus is on teaching real kitchen skills, including technique, speed, flavour balance, and restaurant-style presentation. At the same time, my classes are friendly and easy to follow, making them suitable for beginners as well as those looking to improve their cooking to a professional standard. Lessons are practical, relaxed, and designed to build confidence step by step in a supportive environment.

Welcome! Thank you for your lesson request. I offer the first lesson free of charge so we can get to know each other and discuss your learning goals. Location * In-person lessons are available within Auckland only. * I can travel to your home for the lesson. Booking Please let me know your availability, and we’ll arrange a suitable date and time. Lesson Preparation Once your lesson is confirmed, let me know which dishes you’d like to learn. I’ll send you the recipes and a shopping list of the ingredients you’ll need before the lesson.
