About Marike
I work in research, policy and advocacy on human rights and social justice. In my spare time, I teach English online. I have taught both English and German in classroom (up to 20 people) and private tutoring settings for almost 2 years. My students have reported that my lessons are fun, informative, easy to follow and that they have more confidence speaking the language through my encouragement.

I ensure my topics and classes are based on real life examples, while providing a safe and non-judgemental space for my students to practice their pronunciation and grammar. I encourage mistakes, don't reprimand and gently correct these when appropriate, as I believe it is only through mistakes that one can truly learn.
