About Steven

I’m a chilled, supportive drum teacher who believes the best learning happens when you’re relaxed, having fun, and laughing along the way. I focus on sparking inspiration and confidence, not pressure—because the more comfortable you feel, the faster you improve.
Lessons are always tailored to you. We can work on development of proper technique, reading, coordination, timing, and feel, alongside learning your favourite songs and styles. If there’s something specific you want to focus on, we’ll build lessons around that.
Want to go down the grades route? No problem—we’ll smash them. Prefer grooves, fills, and playing for pure enjoyment? We’ll do that instead. Your goals set the beat.

About the lesson

With 20 years behind the kit, a degree in music performance, and studio, session and touring experience, I offer fun, focused drum lessons that build real groove, solid technique, and confidence —whether you’re starting out or levelling up. Book a lesson and let’s play.

Steven is a fantastic drummer and teacher, definitely someone you want teaching you behind the kit. He’s got bags of ability with the sticks in hand with years of experience gigging all around the country. A professional on stage and in the classroom and a great friend too. You’re in safe hands with Steven.

I've been having drum lessons with Steven for over two years now. He is an excellent teacher who's taught me everything from how to hold the sticks to some truly complex metal/hardcore techniques that I never thought I'd manage. He's patient and works at a good pace - not too challenging but not too soft either. Strongly recommended!
