About Jia Hao
Hi, I'm a second-year Physics student, and I'm passionate about helping students discover that physics and math aren't as intimidating as they seem, they're actually pretty fascinating once the fog clears.
I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to feel stuck on a concept while everyone else seems to get it. That's exactly why I focus on patience and clarity: no question is too basic, and no student is left behind because a lesson moved too fast. My own studies keep me sharp on the fundamentals and connected to where these concepts eventually lead, so I can explain not just the "how" but the "why."
I take tutoring seriously. Every lesson is planned with a clear goal, I show up prepared, and I stay in close communication with students (and parents, where relevant) about progress and areas that need extra attention. My aim isn't just to help with tonight's homework, it's to build lasting understanding and confidence that carries into tests, exams, and beyond.

My teaching approach centers on building intuition before formulas. I break physics and math concepts into simple, concrete steps, using real-world examples and visuals so students understand the "why" behind each idea, not just how to solve a problem. I check for understanding constantly and adjust pace to match how each student learns best, rather than following a rigid script.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of homework or previous concepts to spot gaps early. From there, I introduce the new topic through a relatable example or simple demonstration before moving to guided practice, where I work through problems alongside the student and gradually hand off more responsibility. Each session ends with a short recap and a couple of practice problems to reinforce the lesson and build confidence for next time.
What sets me apart is that I'm currently studying physics at the university level, so I understand both the fundamentals and where these concepts lead. That gives me a strong grasp of the material and genuine enthusiasm for the subject, paired with patience and a knack for explaining things in plain language rather than jargon.
These lessons are for elementary through high school students who need help with physics or math, whether they're catching up on fundamentals, working through a specific unit, or aiming to get ahead. I tailor each session to the student's current class, curriculum, and pace, so the support stays relevant to what they're actually being tested on.
