About Dr Nathan

I am an experienced Maths and Science tutor with a PhD in Engineering and over ten years of teaching experience. I have worked as a secondary school teacher, sixth form tutor, and Head of Department since 2020, leading curriculum development, assessment, and academic support. I am also an exam marker, which gives me valuable insight into how examiners think and what students need to do to achieve top grades. Having taught and studied in both the UK and US, I have a strong understanding of multiple curricula and university admissions systems. My approach is friendly, structured, and academically rigorous, helping students build confidence and master challenging concepts.

About the lesson

I take a personalised, calm, and structured approach to tutoring. After identifying each student’s strengths and gaps, I create a clear plan to build confidence through strong explanations and lots of guided practice. My lessons are supportive, interactive, and always focused on helping students improve quickly and feel proud of their progress.

I started tutoring with Nathan when I was struggling with GCSE Maths and Science. His clear explanations and patience helped everything finally make sense, and my grades improved quickly. I continued with him for A-level Maths and Physics because he made even the toughest topics feel manageable. Nathan taught me how examiners think, how to break down complex problems, and how to stay confident in exams. He genuinely cares about his students, and the progress I made with him was far beyond what I expected. I highly recommend him.
