About Julia
Presently, I am working towards a Practice-Based PhD in Art at the University of Brighton. I have international professional experience in various Art and Design fields. Educated in Poland, the United States, and the United Kingdom, I draw on multiple approaches to inspire others and facilitate self-development. Above all, I’m passionate about mentoring young creatives and sharing my experiences and knowledge. I’m an enthusiastic believer in the power of design, and my nearly 30 years of experience as a professional designer have taught me many valuable lessons which I’m always eager to pass to students. As a practising artist and researcher, working in an academic setting, I also understand the requirements and expectations placed on art students. Working with young artists and designers, I focus on developing their own voice and sense of wonder that comes from creative work. By examining various techniques and methods, I encourage innovative thinking, self-discovery and originality.

I provide an individually tailored approach to teaching students who are currently working towards their GCSE, A-level and BA. Focusing on portfolio and exam preparation, I help students develop their skills and enhance their creative thinking. Additionally, I assist with organisational and presentation skills, as well as all formal requirements, such as personal statements and preparing digital files for application purposes. I hold a BA in Graphic Design from the University of New York and an MA in Sequential Design and Illustration from the University of Brighton. Currently, I'm working towards an Art Practice-based PhD at the University of Brighton. My extensive professional experience in various art and design industries, combined with my familiarity with a higher education setting, enables me to offer students a broader perspective on their future goals. I have successfully helped students secure places at the University of the Arts London and Falmouth University.
