About Claire
I have been giving ESOL lessons daily for over 9 years to asylum seeking teenagers, often starting from their very first day in the UK. My speciality is teaching absolute beginners but I have taught a variety of levels. I have mostly taught in small classes and one-to-one.

I aim to make things simple and relevant. For beginners, I choose very carefully the words I use in lessons. I teach students what they really need to know - the language that will help them in their day to day lives. I try to focus on the skills that they themselves want to learn. I pay close attention to students' progress and move at their pace. I am patient when repetition is needed, but quick to move on when a student is ready.
