About Rachel
I am a fourth year student at the University of Manchester studying a joint honours in Maths and French. With A*s achieved in both A Level Maths and Further Maths and an A in A Level French, I went on to obtain a First in my first two years at university.
During my school years, I was involved in mentoring schemes to aid pupils struggling with Maths which, after seeing noticeable differences in their progress, inspired me to continue to guide GCSE and A Level students in Manchester for two years, as well as spending the last academic year teaching English in secondary schools in France.
Having been through the education system myself just a few years ago, I know how stressful and daunting it can be, especially when you feel you aren't getting the support you need from your school teachers. I understand the problems students face, and can empathize with their struggles. But I do strongly believe that when you take away the stress and the pressure, add some confidence and just focus on actually enjoying learning, the progress will multiply of its own accord. I have seen so many of my pupils flourish and blossom into enthusiastic mathematicians and french speakers, so regardless of whether you're looking for advice on how to hit the top marks, or just want to be able to get through your homework without crying, I am here to help.
