About Phoebe
I am interested in teaching the natural way to draw. I have practiced it daily. And once you have developed your own language of drawing you can then be completely independent and draw upon your imagination as well. In nature there is such diversity, that we could equally just draw from life. It is good to have both skills. The ability to remember form is also very useful and can be developed during a session of drawing from the moving figure, it also develops muscle memory.
Drawing is my greatest passion and we each have an innate need to make images. In our class I would have a few essential text books I refer to. You will learn a lot at first I hope. And I will learn from you too. Teaching is a two way process.

Lesson length can be modified to suit your individual needs. For instance if you are also studying Art History or French and Gaelic, we could incorporate them too.
We will start with a drawing session to find your level of experience. Drawing will eventually become natural to you, like breathing. It is the best foundation for the other arts.
I have taught as a primary school teacher, at third level, and in adult education. I have taught life drawing from a model. My daily art practice is in oil paint, clay and stone with a keen interest in understanding natural history and folklore.
