About Dominic

G'day! My name is Dom. I am year 12 student, studying Clarinet Performance in Music ATAR. I have a full 7+ years of Clarinet experience, but the added benefit is that I am still quite young so I can relate to learning clarinet for the first time. Alongside clarinet, I also play A. Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Cello, Piano and recently started learning Flute! I am a first chair Clarinettist in my school's A Division Concert Band, and a member of its Senior Choir AND Premier Choir as a high Countertenor. (I also lead the tenor section as principal tenor). I am an avid fan of musical theatre and have auditioned for roles before.

I hope you choose me to be your tutor :)

About the lesson

Lessons typically go for a scheduled 30 minutes, and are targeted towards students aged 7+ (any younger and they may have issues forming the proper technique) and upwards of those aiming for a Grade 4 AMEB level.

I can help appropriately with beginners and intermediate players alike, and will help with concert band pieces, AMEB exam pieces and developing technical skills.

At the end of the lesson, I will always spend time going through your practice schedule and assigning scales for you to practice to prepare for repertoire and theoretical portions in the AMEB exams.

My qualifications/ experience include:
- Yr 12 Western Art Music ATAR Clarinet Student (AMEB Grade 5 - 6 Equivalent)
- 7+ years playing clarinet, 4+ years playing Bass Clarinet
- Grade 2 and 3 AMEB (so I do have AMEB experiences too)
- First Chair | Principal Clarinet in high level A division concert bands
