About Abby

Abby is a passionate theatre maker dedicated to nurturing the talents of young actors at all levels. She’s all about encouraging, supporting, and helping them grow their skills in a fun and engaging way! Abby blends techniques from Linklater Voice, Meisner, and Stanislavsky, tailoring her teaching approach to fit each student’s age and experience. She truly believes in collaborating with her students to create personalized lesson plans that cater to their unique needs and aspirations. Abby is excited to be a part of their journey in the performing arts!

About the lesson

Abby offers two lesson options for her students. The first is an audition prep/workshop class. This is a one-time, one hour lesson preparing students for an upcoming audition. Before this lesson, Abby will read through the material the student has given and annotate it, research it, and create a scene analysis for the student. The student will then learn and practice audition skills, receive constructive feedback, and address any questions or concerns related to the material.

The second lesson option is a multi-lesson, planned out curriculum tailored to the students goals and needs. For this option, you and Abby will schedule a FREE 30 minute planning meeting. This is where parent, child, and teacher collaborate on a lesson plan to set the student up for success! . Students are welcome to bring their own material, but if the student does not have a particular piece in mind, Abby has many resources, scripts, and scores your student can choose from.

Details

For the youngest students (5 years to 8 years old), lessons are split between two days in 30-minute slots. Example: Monday from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm and Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. All other students will have a full 1 hour lesson. Full refunds are available for any cancellations.
