About Derek
I always push for outcome-oriented tutoring for my students — tailored programs and pragmatism for each student. My students always have respect — favoritism and bullying are the antithesis of the classroom standard set firmly on day one.

I’ve tutored at university, in Neurobiology and Calculus. But for years I’ve taught K-12 students what they need and love to learn - at ReadingTown or as a private tutor. I helped develop the kids' math, science, reading, history, geography, coding, and test scores. I also taught SAT/AP prep at a separate academy, plus private cello lessons I enjoy with my 2 trainees. My love for teaching could never be purely academic, and pursuing it so much for years has given me further fluency and confidence
