About Cam

I am a third-year student at Queen's University, pursuing a degree in Computing, Mathematics, and Analytics. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about Computer Science and have had a natural talent for Mathematics—two things that have shaped both my academic and personal journey.

Outside the classroom, I’m a proud member of the Varsity Rugby team at Queen’s, and my love for sports has given me the discipline, teamwork, and adaptability that I bring to everything I do—including teaching. Whether on the field or tackling a complex problem, I believe in giving 100% effort and fostering a positive, engaging environment.

My unique combination of technical expertise and a dynamic, energetic approach helps me connect with students and make challenging subjects approachable and fun. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and build a strong foundation for success!

About the lesson

I believe in ensuring students genuinely understand the material they’re studying. I focus on breaking down concepts into manageable steps, providing tools and methods for approaching problems confidently, and building a strong foundation for future learning. My sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, fostering a dynamic that makes learning enjoyable rather than a chore. Creating a supportive environment encourages curiosity and critical thinking, making the subject approachable and rewarding.

A Typical Session Plan

Review and Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Recap previous material to reinforce understanding and build continuity.

Introduction to New Concepts (15-20 minutes): Explain key ideas with examples and analogies tailored to the student's level and interests.

Guided Practice (20-25 minutes): Work through problems together, emphasizing strategies for problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Independent Practice (10-15 minutes): Allow the student to tackle similar problems independently, with guidance as needed.

Wrap-up and Questions (5-10 minutes): Summarize key takeaways, clarify doubts, and discuss how the lesson ties into future topics.
