About Akyere

Ciao a tutti! I'm thrilled to introduce myself to all my students. I hail from the picturesque region of Lombardia in northern Italy, where I spent my early years surrounded by the rich cultural heritage of the area. Growing up in Milan has significantly influenced my perspective and love for the arts, history, and the vibrant Italian language. The decision to move to the United Kingdom at the age of 16-17, prompted by the complexities of Brexit, opened new horizons for me. Currently pursuing my undergraduate studies at the University of Portsmouth, I find immense joy in delving into the realms of politics, philosophy, and anthropology. The study programme also allows me to keep my passion for languages alive, particularly Spanish and, of course, my beloved Italian. I am excited to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the language and culture with all of you as we embark on this learning journey together!

About the lesson

In my tutoring approach for Italian, I focus on goal-setting, aiming to enhance language proficiency through a structured set of exercises and tasks. These activities are meticulously designed to reinforce comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The lessons typically span 1-2 hours, providing an in-depth yet manageable duration for effective learning. The frequency is adjusted based on both the student's and my availability, ensuring a balanced and consistent learning experience. With a GCSE grade 9 in Italian, I bring a solid foundation in the language. This, coupled with my experience in teaching GCSE and A-level Italian, allows me to tailor lessons to the specific requirements of these academic levels. My goal is to not only impart linguistic knowledge but also cultivate a deep understanding of cultural nuances, fostering a comprehensive grasp of the Italian language.
