About Mara

Hello! I was born in beautiful northern Italy and travelled around the world before eventually finding my home here in Aotearoa New Zealand. I love sharing my language and culture with others and helping people learn Italian.

When I first arrived in New Zealand eight years ago, I didn’t speak a word of English, so I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. The most important thing is simply to take that first step!

About the lesson

I love teaching in a fun and engaging way! I enjoy sharing interesting facts about the culture to help my students gain a deeper understanding. Additionally, I find it fascinating to explore word etymology, as it creates a system that makes it easier for my students to memorize and progress rapidly.

Perfect! I have just started my lessons with Mara and I am so excited for my future classes. Mara is very calm and welcoming which is so helpful in such a vulnerable state when learning a brand new language. Even just my first lesson was already so structured, but not stressful. I highly recommend Mara :)
