About Harriet
I studied BA French and Spanish at Cardiff University 2014-2018 then joined the Royal Air Force as a Linguist.
I have taught French and Spanish as a private tutor since 2017 and now teach English as a second language additionally.
During university, I completed a teaching placement in South Wales in a secondary school and privately tutored students from a variety of backgrounds and ages in French and Spanish. I continued this and do it alongside my day-job with a passion for teaching, whether that be foreign languages or my native one.
I worked as an instructor training recruits in languages and also completed a month of teaching English in Costa Rica as part of a community initiative for Global Vision International in 2015.

My lessons are interactive and enjoyable which helps to ensure learning takes place. I like to add diversity to lessons and cater to different learning styles, whether that be more hands-on games to learn vocabulary or more reading material via tasks on PowerPoint. I have created my own teaching resources including games such as language darts and snakes and ladders.
Lessons typically last one hour (30 mins as a minimum, two hours maximum).
I have been teaching since 2017 where I taught French and Spanish and have recently completed my TEFL so can teach my own native language, too.
I am currently a Linguist in the RAF and have worked as an Instructor teaching the recruits languages necessary for work in the military. I am comfortable teaching all ages and welcome all students from different backgrounds, which in my opinion, adds interest and cultural exchanges to the lesson.
