As both a student of literature and the liberal arts, and now as a senior Communications professional, I have always believed that effective teaching of any language should include a sound mix of a traditional classroom approach for grammar, followed by hands-on tutorials, simulation sessions, and actual industry exposure. I teach the same way, using written text, writing assessments, as well as museum or site visits, historical and social background research of the author/piece, and other relevant media like Youtube videos, cinema, and related works of art as reference.
