About Aimee
Hi! I’m a 21 year old third year student studying Music at the University of Manchester. I achieved an A* at Music A Level and created a music focused EPQ. I am a professionally trained singer in opera, jazz, musical theatre, classical and pop singing. I have extensive performance experience such as a role on the West End in the National Theatre singing and acting as well as a deep founded academic base of music studies and theory. I have experience teaching children music both practically and academically. I have lots of resources to teach with and I am happy to focus on specific subjects upon request such as sight reading.

In practical lessons I am happy to send students accompaniment tracks for them to sing along to, as well as focusing on physical technique such as breathing and support and musical awareness, for instance, phrasing and articulation. In tutorials focused on music theory or musical studies, I am happy to work on subject specific basis to fit the needs of the tutee. I can prepare exercises in advance and have resources such as text books of world and jazz music, alongside music psychology and history. I also have music theory exercises I can scan over to the tutee. For sight reading/ reading music I harness my piano abilities in order to teach an understanding of scales and the stave in order to instil confidence in the tutee in order to translate that skill to singing. I believe that a tutoring session is most beneficial to the tutee when they are tailored to their precise needs in order to get the results they desire. This is why I am very flexible in my approach and am happy to do whatever the tutee needs to succeed.
