About Liv

I'm a recording artist, an experienced teacher and choir-director, a lover of all things jazz, blues and soul, and a giant nerd for music, movies, theater, and much more.
But at the heart of it all, I love music! Singing has been my lifelong passion, and helping singers at all levels gain confidence in their ability, grow and nurture fundamental skills, and access new techniques is my passion as a teacher.

About the lesson

Mastering your body as a musical instrument is challenging, fun, and often a little embarrassing, but with dedicated one-to-one tutoring with your goals, unique experience and skill level at the centre, you'll find you enjoy the art of vocal performance more than you thought possible.
Lessons are one hour, offered weekly or fortnightly, for ages 13 to 99!
I'm an experienced tutor with three years of teaching & choir-directing experience out of Wellington, and a lifetime of on-stage performance experience in music and theatre. The majority of my formal music education has been in Jazz and Theatre, and my focus as a tutor is on vocal technique, skill mastery, and performance confidence.
My approach is tailored to the experience and confidence level of the student, and I welcome and appreciate all musical genres and cultures that might be fuelling your drive to become a more skilled performer.

I offer the first lesson free as SuperProf charges students 59NZD to contact a tutor, I will factor in that you are essentially paying your first lesson cost to contact me, and make every effort to ensure all students who contact me receive at least the first lesson.

Liv is a wonderful singing/vocalisation teacher. My daughter has been going to lessons for 18 months so far. I was concerned about who would best suit my daughter's need of a flexible approach to what genre of singing is appropriate from lesson to lesson, as she is still finding her 'voice', literally! Liz has been a perfect fit !. She gauges the need/approach for each lesson, and the progress has been amazing. My daughter has grown in confidence, her dynamic range has improved immensely, and it is the only extra mural activity that she refuses to miss, even though the lessons are on a Sunday!
I recommend Liv highly, she is a gem.
