About Morgan

I'm a Class of 2027 Math and Economics major at Cornell University with four years of one-on-one tutoring experience. Specializing in high school AP/IB courses and AMC contest preperations (I am an USA Math Olympiad Bronze Medalist), I am well-versed in guiding students through complex topics, ensuring they excel in their academic pursuits with personalized and effective teaching strategies.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach to teaching calculus revolves around three key principles: clarity, engagement, and application.

Clarity: I strive to simplify complex concepts into digestible bits. For example, when explaining derivatives, I use real-world analogies like the speed of a car changing over time to illustrate rates of change.
Engagement: Interactive sessions are crucial. I encourage students to solve problems during the lesson, fostering a hands-on learning experience. This involves posing questions that stimulate critical thinking and allowing students to lead the problem-solving process with guidance.
Visual Learning: Utilizing visual aids such as graphs, diagrams, and animations to explain concepts like limits, continuity, and the behavior of functions. This helps in making abstract concepts more tangible.
Feedback and Adaptation: Continuous feedback is provided to students, and I adapt lessons based on their progress and understanding. This personalized attention helps in addressing specific difficulties a student might have.
