About Mitchell

I have over four years of experience tutoring college-level chemistry, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, quantitative chemistry, and physical chemistry, with a particular focus on organic chemistry. In addition, I have taught approximately ten semesters of chemistry labs, covering general, organic, and physical chemistry, which has given me extensive experience guiding students through hands-on and conceptual learning.

About the lesson

I am a PhD-trained chemist with several years of experience teaching and tutoring organic chemistry in both in-person and online settings. My approach as a tutor is concept-driven and student-focused: I emphasize understanding why reactions happen and how mechanisms connect. I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, whether that means a structured, lecture-style walkthrough of a topic, guided practice on problem-solving strategies, or straightforward help with homework and exam preparation. What sets me apart is my ability to combine deep subject knowledge from my PhD training with a flexible, approachable teaching style that builds confidence and independent thinking. I work with college-level students in organic chemistry (Organic I and II), including pre-med, pre-health, and chemistry majors looking to strengthen fundamentals, improve performance, or prepare for tests.
