About Douglas
In my free time I love to leverage the physics of flying discs in the game of Ultimate. And I love to windsurf, which is a beautiful mashup of nature and physics. I learned to windsurf from a Ph.D in physics, who explained the force vectors and how to use them for balance, turning, and of course forward motion :-) I'm also a musician, primarily on electric guitar, which is a marvelous confluence of math, physics, electronics, and acoustics!

I have a strong intuitive understanding of Physics 1 (Newtonian mechanics), and I work hard to teach that to my physics students. I use a collaborative online whiteboard that works really well for equations, diagrams, graphs, etc. I taught a physics class for homeschoolers when my son was in high school. More recently I taught JavaScript in a week-long coding camp. I've tutored dozens of students in algebra, physics, and MATLAB. I have >25 years experience with MATLAB, and currently use it along with Simulink and Stateflow to create software that controls a class 3 medical device.

Perfect! Douglas helped me with my coursework in Design. His way of explaining was very efficient. I don't think I would've been able to finish this if I hadn't found him on this website. I definitely recommend him ! He is also really nice.
- Shade was fun to work with and had a very interesting project! :-)Douglas's response :
