About Zen
Learning should be a fun experience! Since technology is changing so rapidly, we are all now lifelong learners. My goal is to start and keep young people passionate about learning at a young age and hopefully they will maintain that passion for life.
Of course, I am not a total Nerd. I am also an ESPN junkie. When I was younger, like most young men, I wanted to be like Michael Jordan. So I do have advanced basketball skills. However now that I am older with an older body, golf has become my favorite physical sport. I love watching just about all sports with a few exceptions. However I am growing. Why? All sports use some form of numerical comparison to evaluate the competitors. In other words, to keep score. Sport competitions are a great way of relating to many students. I love to keep students interested in the wonderful world of Mathematics by using sports.

My philosophy towards learning is that if you BELIEVE, you can ACHIEVE. I would love to help you achieve and succeed in math.
My educational background is technology driven. I started early with a keen interest in computers and computer science. That interest drove me to pursue math and science courses with a vengeance. I also took my English and non-technical secondary courses very seriously. Although I attended a Public High-School, I learned the biggest secret in the educational process was learning to learn. Or becoming your own best teacher.
As a former Air Force Member and Defense Contractor with more than 15 years of real-world experience, I want to encourage young people to do their homework because there are huge rewards tomorrow if you are willing to sacrifice today. That is exactly what I did and by sacrificing I attended college practically at no cost. Can you say scholarships?
