About Jack
I am currently a student at Michigan State University studying mechanical engineering with a focus in aerospace technology.
In the past I have taught classes at summer camps for kids with ages ranging from 12-18, and will be leading a STEM education program at another camp this summer. While I have had these educational experiences before, this will be my first time officially taking on the role of a tutor.

I like to start lessons by asking students what they think they're struggling with, and why. This not only helps students learn a very effective problem-solving process, but allows me to gauge how well they understand their true problem. I usually start with a very simplified and generalized explanation of the problem-solving process and the concepts behind a given process. I like to use lots of examples alongside other aids, such as visual representations and real-world problems in order to convey information in multiple ways that could help the student. Once the student has demonstrated proficiency with solving problems, I revisit the main concepts that I covered in the beginning in order to instill a deeper understanding.
