About Megan

I'm passionate about learning and teaching and love to help people find strengths within themselves they never knew they had.
I am a professional communicator and lifelong learner having spent 12 years living in France where I worked in corporate communications explaining how various risk pooling solutions in my role as head of global communications at a leading insurance company. I wanted to work more directly with people and I loved tutoring students of all grade levels so I'm reorienting my career towards teaching now.

About the lesson

I teach math using critical thinking to make it intuitive and fun.
For elementary and middle school students, I stress the use of using physical objects and making sketches to help them grasp concepts in a concrete way. I'm completely against the use of rote learning without understanding.
For SAT, GRE, and GMAT students, I draw on my own experience as a test taker having achieved exemplary schools allowing me to attend Temple University for my MBA on a Dean's Scholarship and Lafayette College on a Marquis Scholarship.
For Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics, I use the same critical thinking first approach to help students not only get the right answers but be able to understand how they got there.

I am extremely patient while also being rigorous in my approach. I seek to empower my students by showing them they do have everything they need to master mathematics and have mathematical literacy skills for life.
