About Pietra
I have taught at Swinburne University, Melbourne University and also in South Korea.
My teaching style is dynamic and focuses on students participating fully.
I have had many foreign students stay with me over the past 30 years and some have gone on to gain PHD's.
I love encouraging students, and put a large emphasis on pronunciation, if someone is
competent in grammar but cannot be understood then their work opportunities will be limited.

My teaching method is definitely inclusive and encourages all students to participate especially with speaking in class and role play.
Games are also important and I incorporate word games and competitions in class which brings a welcome relief.
Comprehension of grammar plays a large part but not at the expense of being too technical and not able to incorporate grammar into competent speaking skills.
Emphasis on linking words and paragraphs are also an important part of my teaching.
