Personal Statement
I am fluent in Arabic, French and English and possess a breadth of experience within teaching. My career to date has seen me teach students across all ranges with a particular emphasis on secondary age schooling. In my teaching experience to date I have strived hard to encourage students to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence. At this time I am looking for a trainee or qualified post within secondary education and with a focus on the subject of mathematics and related fields. I am a professional and committed teacher who hopes to build on the experience I have gained both within university and in practical scholastic settings through gaining employment as a secondary school teacher or trainee. I am looking for an opportunity to become more acquainted with the British education system and if required convert my overseas qualifications and experience to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

➢ Baccalaureate - Ministry of Education, Tunisia – Completed in 2000

➢ Secondary School Mathematics Teacher – Lycée Ahmed Tlili Ksar Gafsa, Tunisia
➢ From 2008 through to 2010

➢ Following on from university I commenced work as a Mathematics Teacher. During this time I was responsible for the following:

➢ Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a high standard.
➢ Providing mentoring, support and advice to students.
➢ Supervising, marking and setting student’s course work.
➢ Contributing to the implementation of departmental and school improvement plans.
➢ Taking appropriate and effective measures when pupils misbehave.
➢ Preparing textbooks, handouts, course work and homework assignments.
➢ Participating in meetings with other teachers and also parents.

➢ Senior Healthcare Assistant - The Coach House Residential Home, Yarmouth Road, Hemsby, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 4NJ
➢ From 2011 to the present

➢ Having married my wife who comes from this area, we moved to Norfolk from Tunisia where I was able to gain my current position. I am however very keen to get back into teaching in any capacity. Since coming to the UK I have been able to get various voluntary and observation days at various schools in the local area. This has given me a good opportunity to observe and support pupils on a one-to-one basis, and reaffirmed my decision to get back into teaching. In this regard I am very determined to achieve this and would be willing to work my way up through an assistant role into qualified teacher status.
